Tantor Media Acquires Audio Rights to Running and Mental Health Memoir, DHAMT

My first favorite book holiday is, of course, May 15th since that was the day Mango Publishing released my first book, the running and mental health memoir Depression Hates a Moving Target: How Running with My Dog Brought Me Back from the Brink.

My second favorite day is August 23rd because that’s the day Mango’s Associate Editor Brenda Knight emailed to say “We want to move forward and publish your book!” YES!

My third favorite day was sadly not recorded, but it was the day I searched for my book in the Columbus Metropolitan Library system and found 31 holds on 16 copies. Wowzah!

This brings me to my fourth favorite day, TODAY, June 13th, because I received an email saying Mango sold the audiobook rights to Tantor Media. TANTOR MEDIA! One of the big audiobook companies. Here’s how it works. Remember how I pitched publishers until I found one eager to publish my book? Well, Mango pitched the audiobook to companies until it found one eager to produce the book in audio format. And it happened!

Tantor Media suggested a narrator, but I didn’t connect with her voice so I listened to each of the more than 90 female narrators on the Tantor website and sent a list of six I would prefer. The lovely and talented Sarah Zimmerman has agreed to narrate.

Expect the audiobook on September 10, 2019. In the meantime, you can stalk it here. I know I am!
