Writers need to pay attention. Mindfulness, or focus on the present moment, helps writers access the rich and real details of life. Ideas arise naturally in the stream of mindful thought. Join me (award-winning author Nita Sweeney) as I share mindful writing: writing and meditation strategies to guide you toward authentic, prolific writing. Reduce the stress around writing. Develop a calm attitude. Practice acceptance of yourself as a writer. Find your true material. Learn to experience the world with a writer’s mind. I lead writing exercises as well as sitting and walking meditation. Writers at all levels and in all genres are welcome. Have a fast-writing pen and a notebook (or a speedy keyboard) at the ready and be prepared to write. Suggested reading (not required): Writing Down the Bones or Wild Mind by Natalie Goldberg.
