SUMMARY:Ohioana Book Festival Goes Virtual!
DESCRIPTION:  \nOhioana Book Festival featuring Nita Sweeney and Other Ohio Authors \nFriday\, August 28th\, Saturday\, August 29th\, and Sunday\, August 30th\nNOW A VIRTUAL THREE-DAY EVENT!\n \nI’m so excited to have been selected as one of the 2020 Ohioana Book Festival authors. Join me and the fabulous other authors for one of Ohio’s most popular literary happenings! \nDue to the COVID19 pandemic\, the 2020 Book Festival will be held ONLINE Friday\, August 28 through Sunday\, August 30\, 2020. It is a FREE event. See the Ohioana announcement here. \nWhile all of us are disappointed to not be able to meet in person\, I commend Ohioana Library Association for making the difficult\, responsible decision to hold the Book Festival online. I hope readers recognize the unusual circumstances and embrace this year’s format. We get to chat among ourselves and still stay safe! \nMy books\, Depression Hates a Moving Target and You Should Be Writing will be sold via the event. \nTHE SCHEDULE IS HERE!! \nHere’s the latest from Ohioana:\nThe Ohioana staff has been working from home since March\, during which we’ve been building up our virtual programs via Zoom\, Facebook Live\, etc. We’ve been happy with the wonderful response from both authors and attendees to these programs. \nWe’re working out details\, but we can tell you our virtual festival will involve a variety of formats. These will include panel discussions on Zoom and other programs spread across all of our social media platforms. It will be to our advantage not to hold it all on one day\, so we plan to start on Friday\, August 28 until Sunday August 30. We may record some things in advance to share before the official event as outreach\, as we do every year. The Columbus Metropolitan Library will still be involved\, helping to host and promote all of the virtual events. \nWe are exploring a lot of exciting ideas as to what a virtual festival will look like for us. We are not entirely sure what format everything will fall into\, but anticipate author readings and interviews in addition to panel discussions.
